Seven Haikus from a Junkyard

🔊

1.

A tire-borne seed

falls to the oily ground.

Green leaves find their way.

2.

No bright without dark

no yellow without decay

no hope without grime.

3.

Unless this seeds falls

to the ground and dies, it will

not live. So must I.

4.

It struggles for life!

Valve covers and drive shafts trap

the sticky green leaves.

5.

I need not protect

from a throwaway culture

this resilient plant.

6.

Cast-aside car parts

frame the radiant petals.

None need my guidance.

7.

Name it sunflower.

Assign it a color scheme.

You lose its life force.
