Four Haikus

1

On a balcony

where I overstuff  cast-offs

a wren lines her nest.

2

Sedges susurrate.

The marsh’s breezy music

stirs her growing life.

3

V-shaped lines head south.

Borne aloft by eight decades,

we fly with  the geese.

4

Snowy maples thaw.

In bare circles at their base

melts my frozen heart.
