Breathe In Breathe Out

Copyright 2023 James C Horner

Electrical storms
light up my brain.
I raise high my arms,
like lightning rods.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.

Fingers outstretched
capture my sparks.
My palms push them down.
Breathe in
Breathe out.

Palms twist out
close to my heart
my hands press out peace.
Breathe in
Breathe out.

Ions discharge
ozone in air
love bounces back.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.

My hands flip over
fingers interlace
like a lotus flower.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.

Clouds scud by
right through my head
brain zaps taper off.
Breathe in
Breathe out.

On my belly
my hands cradle,

right palm on left,
my energy.

Breathe in.
Breathe out.

  1. This is a beautiful poem about relaxation. You have wonderful sounds running through here: “Electrical storms” uses the harder consonants, ‘fingers interlace like a lotus flower”, very soft sounds. The final stanza smooth and and quiet. A lovely piece.
