Found Poetry

Along the border of my peaceful life

a war is sprawling

dragging the world

into blood and mud

over oil in the Persian Gulf

north of here

goons patrol PHL

as gas prices gallop

Masked men are scouting the airport crowds

demand IDs

harass me

I give them my best

stone face

expand my voice

in this deteriorated

landscape

go local

march with millions

until the war profiteers

representing me

are voted out

and the fence of our Constitution

is restored

along the border of my peaceful life
